Qila Sheikhupura

Built by Emperor Jahangir in 1619 AD. This Fort was constructed by Moein Khan but after his death it was completed under the supervision of Irdat Khan and also served as a resting place for the Emperor. 1.5 lac rupees were spent on the construction of this building. Samadh of Maharaja Ranjit Singh

The funerary monument of Maharaja Ranjit Singh in Lahore. THe structure was started by his eldest son and heir Kharrack Singh in 1839 and built on the spot that the Maharaja was cremated o the banks of the River Ravi adjacent to the Dera Sahib Gurdwara. Today the Samadh is within the same complex as Dera Sahib. Continue reading »
