The historical Durgiana Mandir is located in the holy city of Amritsar. It can be reached on foot from the Amritsar Railway Station and conveniently by bus from the Amritsar bus stand.

This temple holds a prominent place in the Hindu history as it is believed that Lord Rama visited this place during one Ashwamedh Yagya when He was the king of Ayodhya. This temple was the worshipping place for Saint Valmiki, who wrote the epic Ramayan and birth place of Luv-Kush, the two sons of Lord Rama.

The Durgiana Mandir has a noteworthy architecture, as it is built quite similar to the Golden Temple Amritsar and constructed by Guru Harsai Mal Kapoor. It gets its name from the Hindu goddess Durga, the goddess of protection. Quite similar to the Golden Temple, the Durgiana Mandir is located in midst of a tank of holy water and is reachable by a single pathway.

It is dedicated to a number of Hindu deities including goddess Durga, Lord Rama, goddess Laxmi and Lord Narayan. Idols dedicated to all major Hindu gods are situated here. This temple is visited by thousands of devotees every year, from around the country and foreign locations as well.

It is home to a number of activities including the daily yoga sessions. It has a vast cremation ground with arrangement of sitting for a large gathering of people. Sewing education is provided to girls free of cost along with free food. Durgiana Mandir is also home to Ayurvedic College with Hostel where students are taught Ayurvedic system of medicine.

All major Hindu festivals, including Holi, Ram Naumi, Diwali, Dussehra, Navratras and Janmashtmi, are celebrated here with a lot of pomp and fervor.
