Bahadurgarh Fort

Bahadurgarh Fort, located on the outskirts of Patiala, is a mere 6km from the city centre. The fort was originally built by Nawab Saif Khan in 1658, during the reign of Aurangzeb, and called Saifabad. It was reconstructed later over a period of eight years by Maharajah Karam Singh in 1837.

Phillaur Fort

The Phillaur fort is located just south of Phillaur town of Ludhiana district. The origins of the Phillaur have been traced back to a Sanghera Jut named Phul who gave the name Phulnagar to the town. Later on, this town was captured by Naru Rajputs who were sent by Rai Shahr. Shahr’s son Ratan Pal settled here after the occupation. After departure of Ratan Pal and Juts left this place, a serai or a resting place was constructed at this place, which later was turned into the Phillaur fort later on. Continue reading »
