Almost certainly the richest source of Sikh artefacts, arts and arms outside of India and arguably in the world. On display within Nehru gallery are a number of Sikh arms including a complete Nihang Dastaar Bunga and the stunning Golden Throne of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Within the reading room are dozens of very important paintings in the Kangra style and a number of rare publications.

To commemorate the 300th Anniversary of the Khalsa, the Victoria and Albert Museum hosted a major exhibition titled The Arts of the Sikh Kingdoms. Accompanying this exhibition was the publication of an important new text of the same title.

The bookshop is a great source of books on South Asian Arts and heritage.
